This tool allows you to direct download and generate link of files which you have stored in Google Drive. A direct link will immediately start downloading the file, rather than opening a preview of the file in Google Drive.

Google Drive is one of the
best ways for storing files in the cloud. A sizable amount of storage is
free for use. Moreover, the sharing of documents and links is simple in
it. Plus, you can use your Drive to save all kinds of files, whether they
are Google Docs, MP4s or PDF copy of your latest eBook.
Do you want to share files from your Drive?
To do this just open the individual file and click on the Share button. You
will be provided a URL link along with multiple permissions options, to allow
others access to that specific file.
Once people have access to the URL they are free to download the file to their own devices. This process works fine, but there is an easier and quicker way to achieve this: with a direct download link.
How You Can Use Our Direct Download
Generator Form
We have developed this handy tool to help
you quickly create direct download links for the files that lie in Google
Drive. Instead of opening a Google Drive link and then clicking to download the
file, the generated direct download link instantly begins downloading of the
file.
Step 1: Get the Particular Google Drive Share Link
Go to your Google Drive and right-click on
the file you want to share, then click on the "Share" option.
Step 2: Change Google Account Permissions
A window will appear where you need to
change the visibility to "Anyone with the link". This means that
anyone that receives this link can see and download the files.
NOTE: Make sure the visibility of the file in Google Drive is set to "Anyone with the link". If it is set to the "Restricted" option, then only those people who are logged in to Google and have been provided access to the file can open the direct download link.
Step 3: Get Shareable Link
Now click "on the Copy link"
option in order to save it to your clipboard.
Step 4: Utilize The Google Drive Download Link Generator Created By Us
Paste the link into the text box and click
on the "Generate" option.
Step 5: Share Your Direct Download Link
You have gotten your direct download link. It is time to share it. For achieving this, just highlight the link and copy it to your clipboard and share it wherever you want. We would just advise not sharing the link on public forums or posting it on social media networks.
Important: If your file is of large size (say, a video), the direct link might open a webpage with a prompt that the file is excessively large for Google to scan for viruses. You can avoid this by applying for a Google Drive API key, but it is not strictly necessary. This page will still include a button for downloading the file. {alertInfo}

Why Create Direct Download Link?
This link sharing process works fine for
sharing Google Drive files with family and friends, or to collaborate over work
with colleagues. But it’s not the most professional way for you if you want to
share documents with your clients or customers.
Direct download links offer a better and
simpler way to automate this process. There is a way to do this by tweaking the
“file_id” of your shared file, but that is all a bit technical—we intend to
make it easier, not more difficult.
This is the reason we created a direct
download link generator. Just copy the link. You will get an
automatically-generated URL that triggers a download the moment it is clicked.
There is one thing to note before we go to
the quick tutorial. This tool does not work for Google Apps (e.g. Google
Sheets, Google Document and, Google Forms, or Google Slides) that are built
inside Google Drive.
If you require creating a direct link for these kinds of files, download them to your computer and re-upload them to drive.google.com. It is a bit of a hassle, but a limitation that Google has not addressed yet. {fullWidth}
Note
- You have to Make sure that your file's visibility in Google Drive has been set to "Anyone with the link". If it has been set to "Restricted" then only those people who are logged in to Google and those have been granted access to the file will be able to open the direct link (which probably isn't what you want).
- This only works for the uploaded files, and not the documents created in Google Docs/Sheets/Slides.
- If your file is very large, the direct link may first open a page saying- that the file is too large for Google to scan for viruses. That page will have a button to download the file.{codeBox}
